Hello to all

This week has been great. We have had some good times and some bad times. First the good, we had 6 baptisms and that went really well. The spirit was strong. The bad part about this week was the Sia Family was baptized but they didn't come to sacrament on Sunday the be confirmed. I've never heard of this happening. I don't know if it happens quite a bit and I haven't heard about that happening yet. I was pretty bumbed Sunday when They didn't come. We don't know why they didn't. They have come to church every week before that. The other two Ivhan Nicolas and Micah Indong came and they were confirmed a member. Next week Ivhan will be passing the sacrament and he's excited to do that. Other than the Sia not coming to sacrament the week went really well. We visited the Oñate family a investigator of ours. My first companion was Elder Oñate.....and taught them L3. They are active in a different church and when we taught this to them we asked them if they we baptized by water and they said yes and than we asked them if they received the Holy Ghost or baptized by fire and they said no. We explained it to them and shared some scriptures from the Bible and Gilbert Sr. Oñate the tatay said I didn't know we were suppose to receive the Holy Ghost. The spirit was really strong and I think he realised there is something different about The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. We invited them to church and at first they said no, they had to go to there church but we had 2 members with us. The sister bore testimony of the truthfulness of this Gospel and she talked to the mother and after the lesson we asked again and they said they would next week. We also invited them to the Fireside (this fireside we had last night and it was all the missionaries in the Manila Mission except Palawan so about 150 missionaries and there investigators and all the missionaries sang four songs and others shared there talents.) and they said yes. I believe we are starting to gain there trust. This week I realised that I really enjoy OYMing (Open Your Mouth) and finding. I get to practice my tagalog and meet new people and share the Gospel of course. At first it was alright but now I love it haha. There is nothing better than good old hard missionary work. Transfer day is Oct 6 and the zone leaders said to me are you ready to be transferred I don't know what is going to happen haha:( my kasama is ready to train but there are not very many missionaries coming in. I have some pictures I'll try to send of us coming from the fireside on a bus that's full and me and another elder are the only amerikanos hahahaha. Thanks for the love and support from America haha........Mahal ko kayo!

Magandang gabi sa inyo lahat kundi magandang hapon sa akin haha:)

This week has been really great!!!!! We had 4 baptisms in the area and we are planning for 6 on Sept 25. The Sia Family a part member (a referral we received from some other Elders) Yesterday night we went to our investigators house, Ivan Nicolas is 12 years old. His mom is a member and she referred us to our two baptisms last Saturday. My companion was talking to the mother and I was talking to the children cause they dont make fun of my Tagalog haha. Ivan and I were reading the Sept. Liahona and he said to me. You read so that you can practice your Tagalog. So I read passages from that as he listened. There were tons of new words I didn't know so I stumbled it trying to pronounce them. The common words i know and so they are easy but other word i have no idea what they mean haha. That really humbled me again. I say again cause im humbled everyday but that really did the job. After we went home i got ready for bed and jumped up on to my bunk bed and started reading the Liahona trying to understand and learn new words. Sorry its a short one today but i have to run. Take care. Mahal kita!!!!!!!!!!!:)

Magandang hapon sa inyo lahat

This week has been really neat for me. Last Saturday our President scheduled a temple tour for every zone in the Manila Mission which they have never had a temple tour before. My companion and I were able to take 6 investigators to the temple and show them the importance and explain some for the things we do inside. Sister Joanne and Sister Suzette went and they will be baptized this coming Saturday. We are working and gaining the trust of Joanne's tatay. We met Nanay Suzette's asawa yesterday and he is really nice. He said he is fine with us teaching her. This coming Saturday we will have 2 investigators and 2 child of record baptisms. We have found all of these through tracking and visiting members. Saturday the 25th we will have 6 baptisms if everything falls together. Last week I talked about the Sia Family and that they wanted to be baptized. We took 2 of them to the temple and we teach 4 members of the family. The father is a inactive member and we are starting to gain his trust. He asked us the other day for a Book of Mormon. At first he wasn't to sure about us coming to share a message but I think he is ok now. We received a report from the Assistants of the President and they said that over 200 investigators visited the temple last Saturday. The past month of August in the Manila Mission there was 218 baptisms. A new high for the mission. This last Sunday we had 8 investigators go to church and all of them will be baptized this month. Anyways a couple weeks ago we were teaching a lesson to a brother and sister and at the end of the lesson I was looking around the room and I say this thing on the wall this thing happened to be a spider haha.I couldn't tell if it was fake or not cause it was so big and it wasn't moving. At the very end when we were leaving I asked them if it was really and they said oh that yeah and i couldn't believe it. It was the size of my hand and it was hairy and the legs were the size of a pen haha. I have been here three months and have never seen any spider that big. I wanted to hurry and get out. Also there are rats here and they are huge. Sometimes the length of my forearm and fat haha. Well that's all the cool things I have to share about my week until next week ingat po. Gihigugma ko ikaw...visaya iyan. mimingat kayo ken....kapagpangan iyan. Mahal ko kayo!:)

Hey Friends and Family

Wow it is getting hard for me to type and remember word in English and how to spell them. haha I never thought I would say this but I think im kinda forgetting my english haha. ITs rough cause I dont know everything in Tagalog and im forgetting english so how am i going to type later on in my mission haha. This last week has been really exciting for me and my companion. We had a baptism in our area and the last one in the area was in March. We have 2 coming up on Sept 11. Sis Joan and Sis Suzette. If you didn't notice most of the baptisms are girls. I thinks that's cause there mostly the ones who are open with their religion. We met Sis Joanne's tatay last week and he wasn't to nice about us coming to teach his step daughter. She is 20 yrs old and so has has the ability the make the decision for herself and she decided to continue to let us teach her. We don't go to her house anymore. Her mother is really nice (Nanay Mercy) and she is totally fine with us teaching her daughter. She helps us avoid tatay haha that sounds bad but.... The lord will overrule for the glory of this work. Yesterday we contacted a referral we received and we found out that it is a part member family. They said to us last night that they want to be baptized. There are 5 of them so later tonight we will give them a baptism date. That was a huge blessing for us. Last Sunday we went to Cavite another area about an hour away and we weren't sure how to get to the area so we were asking people and the said a bus comes around and one lady said that bus right there. I looked over and a huge hipee van that had peace signs all over it and other things. It was lifted up and I was like sweet haha so we got on and sure enough it was definitely a hippee van or bus haha The driver was playing old music and i felt like I was in the the old days haha. I dont know if i have said this yet but in the city of muntinlupa (my area) there is a prison. A minimum, medium, and maximum security prison. The minimum security prisoners can leave the prison and go to town and shop or what ever. The medium security I have only been there once but I pass the maximum security usually everyday. There are security officers on the 12 ft wall with machine guns haha pretty sweet huh. Also there is a thethal injection facility and we took a tour a couple weeks ago and its real creepy inside. anyways i thought that was cool and thought I would share that. Anyways until next week. Inget po at mahal ko kayo.
