Amanda,
Hey SIS
The MTC ia great. Its been hot here too. Especially with a suit on. Hamburgers and chicken doesn't sounds good, sorry. We eat that tree to four times a week. Yum that sounds good (the chalk) Haha. (I sent Elliott a letter explaining that Hannah keeps eating the sidewalk chalk and has probably downed a whole stick.) Send me a pic of the girls and your family. Sleep is like Gold. I hardly get any of it and I don't get time for naps either. Only on Sunday. But somehow I make it though the week. The days feel like hours and weeks like days. Its crazy. It feels like I've been here for one long day. My 2 years started when I got set apart that night. That would think if it didn't start till I got to the Philippines. Yeah, I got her letter. Some of it was hard to understand "Please give me everything you need if you want it" (Buerklie send a little to El and of course she just has scribbles on the paper, she was explaining to Nannie what it said, and she told her that's what it said. If you know Buerklie at all, or have listened to her tell stories, its soo typical.) Tell her I do love her and Hannah Banana. Send that ipod with Fernando Ortega on it Please! :) Anything else you want to send. Its always fun getting packages AND letters. Mahal Ko Kaya!

My letter from Elder Cobbley

Okay, I know this is past due. I received this letter in the mail April 7th!! I do have to say I will LOVE when he is using email, cause boy does this kid have some chicken scratch writing - It will be soo much easier to copy and paste!!! Anyways, here goes...

Dear Amanda,
Hey Sis! Everything is good so far. When you saw the first few days I realize I've only been here for six days but it really feels like I've been here for a month. Its weird. I love you guys too and tell Buerk I love her too. Sooner or later she'll catch on and understand. I've got a little but of the language but not all of it. I know how to bear my testimony in Tag. which I will towards the end. Whenever there is a vowel is when the word breaks for example Mahal Kits, you say Ma hal Ki ta and I's are E's and E's are I's. But Oo (Yes) that is right. The Book Of Mormon is spelled like Ang Aklat Ni Mormon. Jesus Christ is Jesu Cristo but my name tag just says Jesus Christ. Here in the MTC we live by this rule SYL! Speak Your Own Language! So I'm supposed to be speaking in my letters too but I'm not used to it yet. But my testimony... I'll leave it like that so you can google it. But send letters whenever you want and packages. But love you guys. Keep in touch.

P.S. I don't know if you should tell mom. You probably could though she wouldn't care. A Sister in my district got sick and there are 9 of us on pills so we don't get sick. But I am not sick. Knock on wood!!

Sorry if I misspelled any words! Its late and I cant read his writing!!

Oh and Mom did get an email and it said... "Mom, you will be receiving a letter in the mail in a few days. Love ya! Elder Cobbley"
I am not sure on the exact words, but I know what he said fit on one line in her email! He sure is a man of many words!!

Letter to home! 4/3/10

Dear Mom

I put a letter in the box this morning being the 32nd. There are some things I need—ear plugs—my companion snoozes. Elder Tangi. He’s hard to understand sometimes cause of his New Zealand accent. But so far I love it. It’s awesome! So many nice people and we got a new Elder in our room today. Elder Whitehead. So that means that Elder Merrill, Elder Tangi and I aren’t companions anymore. No more threesome. Even thou he’s still in our room I kinda miss him. Well if you could send some addresses of people. I don’t know anyones’s. I need some money in my account and/or cash. I need to pay for my shot. Twinrix’s. $97.00. Well the spirit is amazing but its gonna be hard. The language is tough but I’ll get it. I’m the senior companion but just fund that out today. Well I got other people to write so gotta go. Love you guys

Hey Mom,

Well the MTC is not as scary as I thought. Once I got out of the car I wasn’t nervous one bit. I’ll be able to email but I haven’t really been shown that yet. I met Victoria’s brother—he seems pretty nice. Everyone is so nice and willing to help you at anytime. Learned some Tagalog today to. A kop o si Elder Cobbley. My name is Elder Cobbley. Taga Idaho po ako. I’m from Idaho. Magmimisyon pa ako sa manila. I’m serving in the Manila mission. There are some things I need thou- ankle socks. 6 -7 pairs should be good. Pic of the fam and individual pics to. I can’t listen to music here thou but send the ipod anyways. Maybe in the Philippines I’ll be able to but I gotta go to bed its light out. Paalam (bye) J love you guys!!
