July 25th, 2010
Hey everyone.... The month is almost over and my 4th month in the mission haha don't worry I'm not counting. This week has been a draining one. The member who's father is in the hospital is still in the hospital and I don't think he is going to make it:( it was really sad the other day. My companion and I went to the hospital to give him a blessing and he is having a hard time. He eats through a hose going through his nose and all he can do is lay there and watch everyone. Before we went to the Hospital my companion and I woke up at 6:30 and went downstairs and the member was at our door and he has been waiting there since 5:00. We Hurry and got ready and headed to the hospital. When we got off the Jeepney we walked in to a little village and I was like is this the hospital and I thought wow how blessed we are. We walked and there were just little huts type things (houses at tindahans) When we got to the end I saw the hospital and I was relieved. We walked in and of course everyone stares at the amerikano hahaha don't worry I'm use to it. We ended up not giving him a blessing but just visiting with the family. The ward mission leader beat us to the hospital and gave him a blessing. We than went to a investigators house (sister lorni) she has been an investigator for 15 years and she is active in the church. She has been going to church for 3 years and she comes every week. She lives with members and we ended up giving a blessing to the the member there. Anyways until next week. Mahal ko kayo:)

July 19, 2010
Hello everyone.
Any other week has come and gone. This week has just been a regular week. No crazy storms or floodings. I talk to the bishop here and he said that typhoons happen alot in the months June to Sept and that they will get worse. Anyways If you didn't notice from the pictures I sent, I dyed my hair.. It was suppose to be dark brown but turned out black. We have this investigator who is doing really good and she is getting married soon. Her future husband is a member and he is helping her progress alot. They will be getting married and baptized the same day. Anyways their grandpa is old and very weak. He is about 85 years old and he is really skinny and has no energy. Yesterday I had a feeling something was wrong with him and we couldn't go see them at the time. Well last night Elder Amianit and I went back to the apartment kinda early and we found Sister Perla and Brother Alvin at our apartment waiting outside in the rain for us to come home. Sister Perla and Brother Alvin are members and live with Tatay Forneste (The old man). They tell us what is wrong. Tatay Forneste went to the hospital cause his throat was swollen and he couldn't drink or eat. So he had some x-rays and after everything they didn't have the money to pay for everything. Sige po so they were speaking tagalog the whole time and im trying to pick everything up but I end up not understanding correctly. I thought that he was dying and they wanted us to give him a blessing. My companion didn't inform me of what was really wrong. So I was standing there thinking why are we just standing here? We are wasting time. My companion says to me I need to talk to you. So we go inside and go upstairs. he says that they dont have enough money to pay for the bill and they need help. We're not suppose to give anyone money. He tells me whats wrong and I was relieved cause he wasn't dying. They just needed money and they would pay us back. My companion didn't want to. So I offered the give them the money the pay for the bill. Which im totally fine with. To make a long story short I gave them 1000 pesos which is around 25 dollars to pay for the bill.....The other day we had a had a dinner appointment and the members forgot so the hurried and made some rice and ulam. The member gave me a hard boiled egg and I was alittle nervous about it. I opened it up and it wasn't yellow haha it was brown. The member was watching at me so i had to eat it. It was gross and I stunk so bad. I dont know why i did it. later I found out that it was a bad egg. Anyways I hope next week I have more interesting things to write about. Well until next week. Take care!:) Mahal kita!!!!!!!!!

July 14, 2010 --- Safe from Typhoon
Hello everyone!
Wow! These past two days has been awesome and scary. Yesterday night there was a big storm and yes it was a typhoon. My area is right next to the ocean so it was crazy but I guess it wasn't even bad. There will be worse ones in the next few weeks. I washed my clothes that night and thought about putting them outside to dry but I decided not to and I'm REALLY glad I didn't! I woke up in the middle of the night cause my fan which is the best thing ever made next to aircons but we don't have those haha anyways I woke up cause my fan shut off and I cant sleep with out it on. It was the power going out but it turned back on so I went back to sleep. 5 min later it shut off again and it was off for good. 1 in the morning this storm is going on and it sounds like a tornado. Tin roofs and being ripped off and rain and flooding. Not flooding were I live. We live on a hill so everything runs down to the houses at the bottom. Anyways we were suppose to get up at 430 to go to transfer day and we couldn't leave the apartment. We woke up at 6 and when there is no power and there is no water. So we couldn't shower. But we found a little water to take a quick bath. We had hardly any water to drink all day. The power finally came on last night about 10 which I was so excited to take a shower haha. Anyways I got my new companion and he is Filipino which is good. So I can increase my Tagalog. We are going to get along really well. Elder Amianit. Im still in Muntinlupa 2nd and for the next few weeks I'm leading the area till he knows where everything is. Elder OƱate my trainer is now my zone leader. Well we have some baptizms for 31 July. 3 to be exact. Anyways I got to run Ingat po.... Mahal ko kayo!!!:)

July 5th 2010
Hello everyone
HAPPY 4th of July!!!!! Don't worry I'm celebrating hahaha in our own little way and we get the celebrate twice haha. That's the good thing about the time change, we celebrate everything twice haha.Well this past week has flown by. I get my follow up companion next week. I'm serving in the area of Muntinlupa City and I will be serving in the same area again. My companion was a zone leader before he became my companion and so he is going back to be a zone leader and so I'm going to have to show my next companion the area. Anyways this past week hmmmm well my companion and I have 2 baptisms for July 10 I think. One of our investigators decided she doesn't want to be baptized. My companion and I think I might have to do with her father who's family is Iglesia ni Cristo. Iglesia ni Cristo members cant talk to member of Ang Simbahan ni Jesucristo ng mga Banal sa mga Huling Araw. My companion and I are trying to teach him and gain his trust. Anyways this past week we had three CSP's (Community Service Project) We built a kitchen for a member, a roof on a members house, and harvested gabi. Gabi is a plant they eat with rice and its dirty and makes you itch. I have some pics I'm trying to send. So hopefully soon I can get them downloaded. Anyway I had my first fresh coconut juice and coconut. It was alright. It would've been better if it was cold. I ate fresh squid. Today My companion and I got beds hahaha for the past month we have been sleeping on mats on the floor. Elder and Sister Hussey brought us a bunk bed and I'm really excited to be off the floor. Yesterday I saw the ocean well I think it was the ocean. I could have just been a inland. Some the other day asked where I was from so I told them and they asked if I know David Archuleta and i said no haha. Than they asked my I was here and I told them I was on a Mission. They said I needed to go to the coast or some beaches and I said why. They asked me if I was looking for love hahahahaha and I said no I'm on a mission to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the world. That was the funniest conversation I have had here. Filipinos think I'm here to find a wife hahaha. Just cause I'm white and young hahaha!!!!!!..............Anyways I gotta run so until next week........Ingat po! Mahal ko kayo!:)
